Indigenous Design Play Mats - 36cm by 52cm
Childcare centres, preschools and early years centres will love this addition to the Recycled Mats product range.
These individual Indigenous-design play mats are designed as learning tools for young children. They feature Aboriginal cross hatch designs with Aboriginal symbols including kangaroos, fish, snakes, goannas, tutrles, echidnas, and pelicans.
This traditional Indigenous style is well loved the world over.
Each play mat showcases Aboriginal artwork of symbols or pictures, to help children identify and understand cultural and community motifs still used to this day. The play mats can be used as a multi-sensory educational tool to teach children how Aboriginal symbols give information while sharing a cultural experience.
These small individual play mats help you to explore and teach children how Aboriginal people have a deep connection and respectful relationship with the land, and gives you the opportunity to celebrate Aboriginal culture and it's people, one of the oldest living cultures in the world.
These individual mats can also be used at school assembly as carpet tiles for comfortable seating, for seating during lunch time or incursion opportunities, and as stepping stones between classrooms.
Library teachers can use these play mats to introduce Indigenous concepts in libraries and children's literacy zones.
Printed using the latest high tech permanent printing methods, using 100% green energy ( solar ), mats have been treated with Stainguard for protection from spills. Life expectancy is approx 5 years, less for a commercial environment.
