Which Way is a fun Aboriginal design recycled doormat, suitable for your home or office building.
‘Which way’ is an expression used by Murri people (Queensland) and throughout the Torres Strait Islands. It can mean ‘What’s happening?’ ‘How are you going?’ ‘Where are you going?’ or ‘What did you say?’ On our colourful door mat, the artist plays with this expression by sending feet in different directions.
Helen Price is a Queensland-based Indigenous artist, from Darumbal country. Price’s art uses the symbols of nature to share stories about our own life’s journeys. In Which Way, we see butterflies fluttering this way and that, adding to the colour and playful interpretation of the mat’s message.
Like all the authentic, Aboriginal mats, picnic mats and floor rugs available from Recycled Mats, Which Way is easy to care for, store and transport. Made from recycled rubber, dust and food spills wipe away with ease, making this a mat you can use inside or outside, at home, or in the community.
The Which Way door mat is brightly coloured to match any décor or to bring a splash of colour (and culture!) to a classroom. Use this design with kids to generate discussions about nature, art, colour and Indigenous symbolism. Why not pair it with one of our great value floor mat packages for your school or kindy?
Being lightweight and compact, Which Way is a great souvenir of your Australian travels or gift for international family and friends.
