AROHA New Zealand Design Recycled Mat, Black & White
0.9 x 1.8m
Aroha is a Maori word for love.
This beautiful New Zealand design recycled plastic mat in stylish black and white depicts the special love within a family. Artist Milton Tupaea has used the koru (the unfurling silver fern leaf which is an integral symbol within New Zealand art) to create an image of peace and unity. Three koru wrapped around each other can be seen as two parents and a child embracing and celebrating their bond.
Tupaea is from the Maniapoto iwi (tribe) on New Zealand’s north island and draws on his heritage and the symbols of nature in that part of the world to create meaningful, stylistic artworks.
Like all the durable, comfortable floor coverings from Recycled Mats, the Aroha mat is long lasting and simple to maintain. Made from 95% recycled plastics, it is light enough for transportation and storage, and wipes clean with ease.
Compact in size, Aroha is a popular mat design for cultural centres, camping or beach travel. The rectangular shape makes it ideal as an indoor caravan mat, hall runner or bedside mat. Celebrate your own culture as you relax on this reversible rug, or use this design as part of a set of multicultural rugs for teaching about world cultures in schools or kindy rooms.

Oroha NZ Recycled MatBy: Linda Sherrell on 25 February 2018I'm more than happy with this mat on my back verandah. Everyone has commented that they love it. The mat was shipped to me so quickly and it arrived safely packaged. This is the third mat I have purchased, one on my back verandah, one on my front verandah and one as a gift to my grandchildren. I couldn't recommend them highly enough.
WowBy: Robert on 23 August 2016Wow! All my friends are jealous of my stunning mat. Looks like I'll be getting a few for presents this Christmas. Thanks to the recycled mat team for the fast and efficient old style service
LoveBy: Janine Kitto on 18 August 2016I love this mat it’s a great size for just one or two, I use it all the time when out and about, beach park etc. it’s not just practical, the symbolism is just perfect for me and my little family, for us it represents the love I have for my two kids and the new beginnings we share as a family of three.
