Take a look at our special Charity Mat raising funds for The Tweed Family Centre.
This mat, named Family is Centre, centres around Family as the centrepiece, the core of ones being, and is gorgeous in green and yellow. The story of the mat is that family relationships and connections provide and uphold strength, honour and respect. These strands of family connection flow deep within our soul, captivated by love.
We called upon our beloved Indigenous Artist Christine Slabb to create this Family Centre recycled plastic picnic mat as part of a community collaboration with the Family Centre in Tweed Heads.
"Family is the centre, the centre is our family" - Christine Slabb
From Oct 2018 and ending in Mar 2020, we have donated 100% of the net profits of this mat to The Family Centre in Tweed to help them with their work supporting local Indigenous and non-Indigenous families. This contribution has assisted families under financial strain with the cost of school uniforms and excursions, tutoring and tuition, instruments, books, computer equipment or sports club fees and uniforms.
Anyone wanting to embrace or learn more about Indigenous Aboriginal cultures, society and storytelling, or support local Tweed families experiencing hardship should consider this 2.7 metre mat. This is also a great mat to gift to friends and family who are happy to know the gifts they receive have a social conscience and make a difference in the world.
