CAMPFIRE Aboriginal Design Recycled Mat - Black/Brown/White
The Campfire Aboriginal design mat, in a terrific value set of 5, is one of our most popular mats.
Cleverly created to express Australian Aboriginal symbolism, it's a perfect addition to your teaching resources as these mats encourage open discussion about Indigenous Australian culture and diversity during group, reading and meal time.
The Campfire Aboriginal design mat comes from talented artist Angela Marr-Grogan’s range. Angela has been painting for over 10 years and is a Birrbay woman with connections to the Dhanggatti and Warrimay people on NSW mid-north coast. This design symbolises the importance of the campfire as a meeting place, as well as a source of warmth and nourishment.
This special deal is perfect for schools to use as teaching resources, libraries, sports groups or community centres who need plenty of space for sitting inside or outside. Buy 4 stunning Campfire Aboriginal design recycled mats and get a 5th mat added to your set, absolutely free!
The concept behind the Campfire design is a gathering of tribes, coming together around a central point to reconnect and share dreaming stories. Marr-Grogan’s beautiful imagery makes this rug design appealing as a childcare mat, classroom story space or family camping mat. Choose this sturdy, comfortable mat for any place, for your own ‘tribe’ to come together and connect.
This economical set of 5 includes a mixed combination of vibrant, reversible colours, all in the Campfire design. Campfire mats are also available to purchase individually.
"As an Aboriginal artist, I am inspired and driven by the depth of Aboriginal culture and my place within it,” Marr-Grogan has said. With this in mind, Recycled Mats works in consultation with communities to create authentic, ethically produced Indigenous design mats that celebrate cultural diversity. Feel confident as a cultural educator by using school mats or picnic mats that truly represent their communities of origin.
Looking after your recycled plastic mat is simple, too, as these impressive floor coverings are created from recycled, UV-treated plastics. Spills wipe off with ease, whilst heavier soiling can be hosed off.
Campfire Aboriginal design mats are an ideal way to celebrate culture in day to day life.
