WATER DREAMING Aboriginal Design Recycled Mat, Blue & White
1.8 x 1.8m
Play mat? Camping mat? Floor covering for your picnic or market stall? If you’re looking for a sturdy rug that’s hardwearing but also stylish, choose a contemporary Indigenous design mat from Recycled Mats.
The Water Dreaming Aboriginal design recycled mat in stunning ocean blue and white is ideal as a reading spot, play space or just an eye-catching statement for your home or office décor.
Made from 95% recycled materials, Water Dreaming is not only great for celebrating cultural diversity – it’s also great for our earth. The innovative recycled plastics we use to create our mats is easy to clean, comfortable to sit on and UV treated to resist colour fading.
Dean Jakamara Briscoe is a respected Australian Indigenous artist from the Anmatyerre, Central Desert, region. He’s a professional artist and owner of Anmatyerre Arts and Crafts. In Water Dreaming, he reminds us of the fact that water is imperative to life everywhere. It is particularly noticeable in desert regions, where rain and full waterholes can transform an arid landscape within hours. Rain means new life.
Every Aboriginal mat commissioned by Recycled Mats is developed in close consultation with communities and features images that are culturally-appropriate for sharing. Water Dreaming can be used in a classroom to invite discussion about many topics, including culture, nature, conservation and colour. Pair it with some fun educational games to extend multicultural learning or a few comfy matching cushions for a cosy reading corner.
Water Dreaming Aboriginal design mats in calming ocean blue and white provide perfect indoor or outdoor ground cover for any occasion, from the classroom to the campsite.

Great feel underfootBy: SJ griffin on 8 January 2017Our recycled mat is a great addition to our beach house. It feels good underfoot, looks great, adding a splash of colour, and can be easily swept clean, no vacuuming necessary. Love the idea that we are supporting our Indigenous people by buying this useful item too!
