A compact and portable mat with big cultural meaning.
This striking two-tone Maori Aroha design runner mat depicts the special love within a family. The smaller rectangular size makes it ideal for compact spaces or tiny living. It also makes a beautiful feature piece for entrances and hallways.
The word Aroha is a Maori word for 'Love'. To create this image of peace and unity, artist Milton Tupaea has used the Koru - an unfurling silver fern leaf which is an integral symbol within New Zealand art. The symbol of three Koru wrapped around each other can be seen as two parents and a child embracing and celebrating their bond.
Tupaea has Ngati Maniapo connections on New Zealand’s north island and draws on his heritage and the symbols of nature in that part of the world to create meaningful, stylistic artworks.
Like all our recycled plastic mats, the Aroha runner mat is waterproof, UV treated and perfect for creating a comfortable space at the beach or on picnics. Not only is it great for indoors, but it can also be rolled into a space-saving size - perfect to keep in the boot of your car or picnic bag for moments of appreciating the great outdoors.
When using the Aroha in high foot traffic areas, we recommend a gentle brush and hose down with some earth-friendly detergent to remove dirt and dust. To remove any smaller food spills or mess, simply wipe down with a wet cloth and store again.

LOVE IT!!By: Purple Pettit on 3 June 2018I bought this as a gift for my partner, she LOVED it. The mat is gorgeous, well designed and manufactured. It’s light enough to use as wall art, and sturdy enough for physical use as a floor mat or a beach/camping mat. Worth every (reasonably priced) cent!!!
Balcony matBy: Andrea Peacock Ousley on 6 May 2018I still love the design of my mat but it seems impossible to get it to straighten out So it’s not really working as a balcony mat
Oroha NZ Recycled MatBy: Linda Sherrell on 25 February 2018I'm more than happy with this mat on my back verandah. Everyone has commented that they love it. The mat was shipped to me so quickly and it arrived safely packaged. This is the third mat I have purchased, one on my back verandah, one on my front verandah and one as a gift to my grandchildren. I couldn't recommend them highly enough.
