The 'Mangopare' recycled plastic mat in bold black and green is for every nature lover
This recycled plastic picnic mat features the 'Mangopare' design, a traditional Maori symbol of strength and courage. New Zealand artist Turumakina Duley came up with this modern take on a traditional Mangopare design. It is his interpretation of an ancient symbol, variously interpreted as a lovers’ embrace, and a symbol of everlasting friendship. It's a design found on greenstone, and in tribal carvings.
Like all our outdoor mats, this unique NZ designed recycled mat can be used in so many ways; Brighten up your home, take it camping, use in educational settings, a trip to the beach, picnicking, or perhaps some interesting wall art! Our 'Mangopare' mat is a popular design for celebrating culture and community.
Our outdoor mats are hard-wearing, yet soft and comfortable. Being made of recycled plastics, they are naturally waterproof & light and easy to care for. We know that you LOVE doing the right thing for the planet, and you can rest easy knowing that this particular design has saved 2.5kg of plastic from landfill. 'How are your mats made?' we hear you cry! Check out our blog post to see how we save plastic bottles & shopping bags from entering landfill and turn them into something beautiful and practical.
As with most of our recycled plastic mats, this design is reversible. Not only does it extend the longevity of the mat, it effectively means two different predominant colorways for the price of one!
Take your comfort up a level and consider one of our soft, hand-printed, cotton throws. They make great cover-ups for when the air starts to turn a little cooler outside (and they're beautiful too!) You might also want to take a look at our range of portable picnic tables. They can be used for so many purposes - anywhere you need a flat usable surface... for example, an indoor floor picnic drink / condiment holder, or perhaps a bowl of salad ready to compliment your outdoor BBQ garden picnic. We've even known them to be used as portable arts & crafts tables - anything that keeps the little ones amused whilst you finish entertaining your guests!
What can I do with my mat when it reaches the end of its lifespan? Our exciting news is a must-read.
