Maori Recycled Plastic Rugs - Picnics, Beach, Outdoors...
Like all the durable, comfortable Maori mats from Recycled Mats, the Korero mat is long-lasting and easy to maintain. Made from 95% recycled plastics, it is lightweight for transportation and storage, and wipes clean with ease.
New Zealand artist Turumakina Duley created the impressive Korero design, which is also known as Ngaa Hau ee Wha – ‘the four winds’. Spoken about in many different cultural spaces, the image of the four winds evokes people coming from all directions to gather in pursuit of peace through ceremony, celebration and learning. The artist draws on his ancestry of Tuhoe, Ngaiterangi and Ngati Awa origins to produce cultural imagery for tattoos and other visual art forms.
Korero is a popular mat design for cultural centres, classrooms or for camping or beach travel. The circular shape inspires connectedness and sharing of games, conversations or food. Celebrate your own culture as you relax on the mat, or use this design as a teaching tool about world cultures.

KoreroBy: Karen on 30 June 2017Love the meaning behind this mats name. A great place to sit and chat.
HomeBy: Lynette Funnell on 25 October 2016Loving the Maori designs coming out to remind me of home! Korero loosely translates to a "discussion or meeting" and this is a beautiful mat on which to do so! The double sides add extra visual impact depending on what resources or space it is used in. It's a nice addition to the room for the children to enjoy as we explore different cultural patterns and symbols. Easy to clean and move around - the children love getting it out for snack time under the trees!
VibrantBy: Vanessa Notley on 10 September 2016I just love my range of mats from the team at Recycled Mats. This one is a fav, I love the bold vibrant design, the fact it's reversable and how easy they are to keep clean. Thank you!!
