'Emu & Kangaroo Tracks' is an Australian-designed recycled runner, in rich, earthy orange and black
Place it in the office or classroom as a talking point décor feature, or a handy multicultural teaching tool. This size is so compact and versatile - you can really place it anywhere.
It was designed by accomplished Australian Aboriginal artist De Greer Yindimincarlie, of the Wiradjuri Nation in central New South Wales, using many different Aboriginal figures. The image represents three campsites, with emu tracks heading west and kangaroo tracks running east. The centre campsite is surrounded by women, whilst the other campsites are attended by warriors.
As a classroom resource, these plastic rug runner mats provide a practical introduction to Aboriginal symbology. Embed Aboriginal culture throughout your school and workplace by featuring this mat.
In the home, these carpet runner mats can save high-traffic areas, hide ugly stains, or be placed parallel to your bed. Use them at festivals, music concerts, and outdoor events as lightweight practical seating. They're great to roll up and pop under your arm whilst cycling to the beach, or to keep in the car for impromptu coffee dates in the park. The striking colours ensure it’s an eye-catching addition to any library, community centre or office foyer.
Like all our recycled plastic mats, 'Emu & Kangaroo Tracks' is durable, and sturdy yet super soft to walk or sit on. Being naturally waterproof, looking after them is also a breeze; Wipe away dirt and dust, or hose it off and dry it in the shade. In a classroom, it's light enough to move it from ‘home corner’ to ‘story corner’ or even outside for a picnic lunch on a daily basis. Want to change up your look for the day, or keep your class on their toes? This mat is reversible so you can enjoy two different colour combinations!
We have so many other products to complement your educational setup. Consider using a recycled mat in conjunction with other cultural resources such as The Little Black Game Pack (designed by the same artist) to extend learning in areas such as diversity, nature, family life or art. You could add in a selection of our Aboriginal cushion covers to inject some more colour and comfort. Perfect for a chill-out reading corner!
