CAMPFIRE Aboriginal Design Recycled Mat, Black & Orange
The Campfire Aboriginal design mat in earthy orange and black is designed by Indigenous artist Angela Marr-Grogan. Angela is a Birpai/Biripi woman, with connections to the Dunghutti and Worimi people on the NSW mid-north coast. This design showcases the campfire as a meeting place, as well as a source of warmth and cooking.
The Campfire design is based on the gathering of individuals around a central meeting space to share dreaming stories. This imagery makes this mat popular in childcare centres, schools or for family gatherings – anywhere you want your own ‘tribe’ to connect and collaborate. As a school mat, use Campfire for group time, helping children arrange themselves in a circle for listening or sharing.
Available in three colour combinations, which represent connection to the land, Marr-Grogan’s design reminds us of the importance of sharing stories when it comes to understanding one’s own, or other people’s, cultural heritage.
Recycled Mats works in consultation with Indigenous artists to create authentic, ethically produced Aboriginal design mats that celebrate cultural diversity and are culturally appropriate for use within and outside their communities.
Our Indigenous design floor coverings are easy to look after too. Spills wipe off with ease whilst heavier soiling can be hosed off. Roll up your mat for storage or transportation as you move from home to the park, or from your lunch break to a study session.
Campfire Aboriginal design recycled mats in orange and black invite you to celebrate culture and the planet anywhere, anytime.

Amazing MatBy: Julieann Hall on 19 April 2018Love how this mat just sits under my outdoor table and makes me feel connected to Country.
The PERFECT mat for outdoor groupsBy: Vicci Oliver on 26 February 2018We purchased our first 3m round mat for our Forest School program at the start of 2017. We now have a collection of five mats that we use three times a week for our outdoor nature play programs. They have been through a flogging with wet, muddy and sandy conditions. With a simple hose down we can rid them of food and debris, ready to welcome our next tribe of little explorers! They are comfortable and they look amazing. They really help us to set the tone of our nature play sessions and we have had so many compliments on the designs and the size (which can accommodate 15 wildlings quite comfortably!) We couldn't be happier with our mats and will use any excuse to purchase the newest designs that come through. We particularly love our campfire mat. The earthy orange and black tones help us to connect back to the land, and help us to embed indigenous culture with the children.
Perfect for the Glamping tent!16 February 2018Very pleased with my mat that's just arrived. Size is perfect, colours are beautiful. It was delivered so quickly and I was kept informed through the entire purchase to delivery cycle, very professional service. The mat is perfect for my little camping area and the glamping tent. Thank you.
Great ValueBy: Collette on 20 November 2017We are very happy with them, thank you very much. Great value – and great service
Circle matBy: Christine cussen on 13 September 2017Just love it and the lightness surprised me but it's great because we can easily take it outside and have story time in the sun. The kids love that it's reversible too. It started s great discussion about the environment, and reusing and recycling plastic too.
