TRACKS Aboriginal Design Recycled Mat, Red & White
1.8 x 2.7m
Tracks is an Australian design recycled mat, in rich red and white, great for home, office or classroom use. It was designed by accomplished Australian Aboriginal artist De Greer Yindimincarlie, of the Wiradjuri Nation in central New South Wales, using many different Aboriginal symbols. It tells a story of traditional community life, including symbols for campsites, warriors, women and kangaroo tracks.
This intricate design is ideal as a teaching tool, helping students of all ages learn more about their own and other cultures while they read, eat or play on an indoor or outdoor rug. It’s a practical introduction to Indigenous symbolism in art and opens us up to the world of storytelling through pictures.
Like all our recycled mats, Tracks is hard-wearing and easy to clean – wipe away dirt and dust, or hose it off and dry it in the shade. Made from 95% recycled plastics, Tracks is light enough to carry or fold up for transport or storage, so you can move it from ‘home corner’ to ‘story corner’ or even outside for a picnic lunch.
This innovative material is soft and comfortable for sitting and walking on, but also tough enough for indoor or outdoor use. The striking colours ensure it’s an eye-catching addition to any library, community centre or office foyer.
These mats make diversity education easy at home or at school. Consider using them in conjunction with other classroom mat sets, or resources such as The Little Black Game Pack (designed by the same artist) to extend learning in areas such as culture, nature, family life or art.
The Tracks unique Australia design recycled mat in vibrant red and white can be enjoyed as a camping mat, play mat or anywhere you want to bring people together.
